Fall Illumination in Rikugien Park in November 2007
As we have already seen how beautiful trees can be during fall in Japan it is also understandable that Japanese also struggle to create some nice scenes at night out of this. This time we found ourselves in a japanese landscape garden in the northern part if inner Tôkyô. In connection with the small pond before the illuminated trees were giving a truly deep impression. Viewers should thereby put special attention to photos numer 22 and 23 as to my mind I was lucky enough to get a very special atmosphere onto that.
Randomly occurring fuzziness shall be forgiven as it can be very hard to get clear shots at full darkness without a tripod.
Christmas Illumination Dezember 2007
In Japan, especially Tôkyô, there are numerous really lavish illuminated sites throughout the city. At Roppongi the trees surrounding most parts of the Mori Tower lining street were lit up in white and silver colours which was giving a really nice view. In the inner part of Mori Tower there even was German Christmas Market where you could drink German beer and eat sausages with Sauerkraut. On the other hand 900 Yen for one german white beer was quite overdone to my mind.
A very special event was held in Tôkyô Midtown where wonderfully illuminated elements could be found throughout the whole shopping complex arranged by a very popular artist. Particularly the sea scenery in the back of the centre was outstanding. One have to imagine the blue sea light in movement as permanently changing and blinking objects were integrated. And all this for free! This is a very pleasant feature of Tôkyô. You can do so many things easily which are arranged by the government or companies for people here and most of them are free of charge. They really struggle here to keep their inhabitants in mood which I find truly sympathic. Would than the japanese women be a bit more romantic and able to show this in public - which unforgettable experience would that be!
